[2/2] Inner Drive: From Underdog to Global Company (Category Management)

Concluding the review of this book, begun earlierI want to talk about the last two parts of the book.

4) Seeker (seeker) This is where the story of InDriver begins, the prototype of which was a group in VK, which was launched by a student to post orders for independent drivers. (from here inDriver). Interestingly, Arsene and the team then bought the group from the student and invited him to join the company. But they did not stop at one group, but made a mobile application, where drivers and passengers gradually moved. But in general, this is the most philosophical part in which Arsene is looking for his way. He talks a lot about cycling club, running, psychologists, coaching and so on, and ends with a story about what he came to in the end.

I am deeply invested in promoting the development of the things I care about – in building something huge, brilliant, and excellent from nothing. This inspires me, my team, and many others, giving us strength and energy. And I’m the one helping to make it happen, a “developist,” a true believer in development’s power and opportunities––that’s the word that best describes my sense of self and my personal mission. In fact, from here the name of the last part “developer” is born.

5) Developer (developer) This is the most dynamic part of the book, which contains all the peripherals of the development of InDriver. There are also battles with Yandex and Uber, the search for investors and rejection of the proposed investments, work in hide mode after receiving rounds and adjusting to coveted changes. Events are also discussed after the start. 2022 InDriver was divided into Russian and foreign parts, the last of which lost the letter R and became simply inDrive. This part is very interesting to read - it resembles an adventure detective. (As we already know, with a happy ending.

In the end, this interesting book combines the themes of personal growth, business development and overcoming difficulties, showing how you can go from a programmer in Siberia to a global business leader.
