3 AImigo S1E12 Materials: October 2026 AI Digest
The October 3 AImigo AI digest came out on October 30. Evgeny Sergeev, Alexey Litvinov, and I discussed the month's news and the questions it raises for engineering teams. Models are getting cheaper and can find vulnerabilities faster, but patches still need to be deployed and agents' work still needs to be checked.
What we discussed
🔸 Agent security
Models help defenders and potential attackers find vulnerabilities. Agents also add dependencies, permissions, and exposure to prompt injection. A patch still has to be deployed once it's released.
🔸 AI lab economics
Using Anthropic's reported IPO filing as an example, we discussed revenue, R&D expenses, and compute commitments. Disclosures give us material to analyze without guaranteeing that the business is sustainable.
🔸 The cost of a result
When comparing models, token prices are only one part of the picture. Quality on your own tasks, the harness, verification, and retries all matter.
🔸 World models and robotics
Simulation can help test robot actions repeatedly. A convincing demo tells us little about how a system will behave in the real world.
🔸 AI in science and at work
We discussed the workload for experts who check agent results and an account of how Anthropic staff use agents in their workflows. One company's experience won't necessarily transfer to others.
