60 – Agile Metrics (Category Management)

I came across this comic Comic Agile this time on the topic of metrics, which is very interesting. The authors of the comic book deservedly ironize over velocity, burndown, predictability, lead time and business value, playing the standard ways of painting this metric green. Further, they note that these metrics can help with identifying areas for improvement, but in their humble opinion, there are some. 2 metrics worth measuring

  • NPS (net promoter score) - customer satisfaction
  • The hapiness of team members Satisfaction of team members It's funny that NPS is a super-general metric that everyone now takes and uses on the principle of "don't know what to show by product - show NPS." And the authors suggest measuring the second metric using the Spotify Squad Health Check, which I talked about earlier. (1 and 2). It is interesting that these metrics, like the rest given in the discussion, can be spoiled, for example, the product is there and users are happy with it, the team is also happy with its work, only the features do not roll - and it makes sense to strain when the NPS is high:) But then the authors say the crown phrase about the outcome.

We must remember that working agile is a means to an end and not the goal, itself. Therefore, thinking about what outcome we want by working agile is what we should measure. As a result, the idea of the metrics that autras recommend remains undisclosed.
