Atomic Heart: A Bright Future (Category SciFi)

I read this collection of stories about the world of Atomic Heart with great interest. The book is about what the Atomic Heart Union was like before the game began: showcases of utopia, robots in everyday life, a sense of progress “all under control”, where technology does not just help – they become the background of life, the new norm. True, there is a feeling that you are reading the system log right before everything went downhill and the world went crazy. Separately, I note that the book does not have spoilers for the plot of the game, but all the stories could well be true and they do not contradict the official lore. Reading this collection, you feel a turning point when you realize that utopia with robots easily turns into dystopia.

It is interesting to draw parallels with the current fascination with human-like robots and the desire to embody AGI. There are thoughts about Trust in automation (When “smart” is “safe”),

• The human factor (The main bug is always in the interface between people and systems.), A world where robots are basic infrastructure, but it's not clear what plan B is.

In general, this book is well suited for game lovers and not only.
