software report from Heidi HelfandIn which she talks about how to make changes in teams. It should be noted that Heidi is the author of the book.Dynamic Reteaming", and in this report she briefly describes the contents of her book. She starts with her career in IT, which started in a startup before the dot-com boom. Initially, the startup grew, but then did pivot, as the original product did not have enough market fit. In the end, they switched over to the team. Here are some reasons why teams need to change.

  • Products cancelled
  • Growth/attrition
  • New work or priority
  • Knowledge sharing
  • Stagnation & learning And separately, the author notes that when your teams change, it does not mean that you did something wrong. And even more so, you can sit and (~~not~~)Wait for changes, act as a catalyst and partly manage them:) Next, the author talks about 5 Self-evident patterns of team changes One by one pattern - adding people to a team one by one Grow & split pattern - team growth and division (frequently 2 piece)
  • Merging pattern - combining two separate teams into one
  • Isolation pattern: A team of individuals selected from their teams. Switching pattern - the transition of one person from one team to another Further, the author notes that it is not necessary to make all these changes for the sake of the changes themselves:) But change is our usual companion, so we must be prepared for it. The author shows the sign of infinity (∞)It symbolizes continuous change. (not devops)And then we go to the software stories about how to live with it all:) I will not retell them, as there are original presentations and slides of presentations that are available. here.
