The Thirteenth Edition of Code of Leadership Accelerate is a book written by Gene Kim, Jez Humble, and Nicole Forsgren. The popularity of this book is due to the fact that this book provides steep conclusions about the relationship of processes and practices within the organization and its effectiveness, and these are the issues that interest management. Unlike many other books, these claims are supported by systematic research. I am discussing the book with Igor Kurochkin, who has more. 12 years of experience in the industry, including 6 years in consulting. It helps develop engineering culture, processes and practices, platform and product teams in large companies. In this issue, we discuss the following topics: History of the book, acquaintance with the authors and their research A brief overview of three parts: the authors’ model, research methodology, how to apply the model in practice

  • Comparison of maturity models (maturity models) practice models (capabilities models) As previously tried to measure the effectiveness of development (lines of code, velocity, compleated story points)
  • Dora metrics.
  • Shane and Westrum culture. Continuous Delivery Principles, Their Relationship to Engineering Practices
  • Architecture and scale Shift left everything and pipeline driven organization Lean management and product practices How the study was designed, what model turned out, how the results were analyzed How the Accelerate model developed and what can be read from the new model (DORA reports with 2019 current-year)
