I read a book called The Genius Checklist a long time ago. The Nine Paradoxes of Giftedness ("The Genius Checklist") by Dean Keith Simonton.

The word genius and the phenomenon of genius is a hot topic in which there are many different opinions and examples that are difficult to generalize. But the author succeeded and he made a checklist of 9 Paradox lessons, each of which gives two diametrically opposed tips for achieving genius:) Each of the statements has some truth and the author reveals them with stories and examples.

Here is the resulting list and if you are interested in it, I recommend reading the entire book, the good news is that it is quite thin:

  1. Dial no less. 140 IQ scores. Or don't take the tests at all.
  2. Go crazy. Or become the epitome of mental health.
  3. You're born genius. Choose your home and school carefully.
  4. Be the oldest child in the family. Or try to be last born.
  5. Study hard day and night. Or be interested, get carried away, travel.
  6. Strive for perfection. Or do it through trial and error.
  7. Become a child prodigy. Or wait until you finally bloom.
  8. Die young. Or live to a very old age.
  9. Live as a hermit. Or surround yourself with soul mates.
