Manager's Encyclopedia. Algorithms of effective operation 3rd edition (Fast Thinking Manager's Manual)

Recently, I bought a stack of new books and there was a book by Alpina Publisher called "The Publisher."Manager's Encyclopedia" When I opened it, I felt a sense of déjà vu – I had read this content a long time ago. I began to remember and realized that the new book was the fifth edition, and I was in a distant place. 2007 I bought the third edition of this book because I wanted to understand how managers work, what tasks they solve, and how to build teamwork. At the time, the book seemed boring and boring, and the examples themselves did not fall on my experience - then I was just starting my way and was a beginner developer. Many years have passed and now the impression is very different - I was planning to flip through the book in order to refresh my memories and suddenly it turned out that I was starting to re-read it. It contains overly lifelike situations that resonate with me and in which I often act in a similar way as the authors recommend, but I came to this myself rather than following these recommendations:)

I like the structure of this book and its approach. The algorithms of work given in it are grouped by topic Algorithms for the middle manager: interviews, certifications, problem people, discipline, hiring a new employee, encouraging staff Algorithms for senior executives: meetings, crisis, project, decision-making, constructive criticism Algorithms for the performer: fact finding, budget, presentation, proposal, time management Algorithms for a person: emergency at work, quick inclusion in work

Each of the algorithms is written for three variants, which depend on the available time, starting with the following: 1 day of preparation, passing through 1 hour 15 minutes. In general, this book can be used as an encyclopedia. I have learned many of these topics myself, studying other books, attending conferences, collecting bumps in practice, and I can say that the quality of advice in this book is excellent. I recommend it!

P.S. There is no specifics in this book regarding software development, but it doesn’t seem to be required:)
