About six years ago, I read this book about the Ponzi and Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme that took it to the next level. Speaking of narrative style, the author, Harry Marcopolos, talks about how he explored the paradox of stable “profitability” of Maddoff’s company throughout his career. At first, he tried to build a financial instrument with similar indicators, and then, trusting his paranoia, tried to open the eyes of other participants in the financial market. But it was easier for everyone to believe in Madoff’s financial guru and get stable interest rates.
