Five Global Trends in Business and Society in 2025 (Category Management)

I finally read it. List of top risks from INSEAD on 2025 year. I'm now subscribed to some of their newsletters, since four years ago I studied MBA in the framework of the custom program for T-Bank, where we were taught part of the modules by the guys from INSEAD, and part of the guys from Skolkovo. In fact, the INSEAD professors organize surveys of graduates about risks for the short, medium and long term, and then publish such reports. Report on 2025 The year came out at the end of January and now we can compare it with how things are developing. Guys singled out 5 top-risk 1) Climate change The authors noted in the forecast extreme weather events, loss of biodiversity and collapse of ecosystems, changes in terrestrial systems and shortage of natural resources. 2) Geopolitical crises The authors predicted a high risk of armed conflict. (Proxy wars, civil wars, coups and terrorism). Deteriorating U.S.-China relations, increasing protectionism, and declining international cooperation. Increased tension in the regions (Ukraine, Middle East, Taiwan). Everything's about there. 3) Income and wealth inequality Inequality, which increases the polarization of society and undermines social stability. Food inflation remains high in developing countries. High levels of poverty: almost 700 Millions of people live in extreme poverty. 4) Social instability The authors say that the increasing polarization of society due to the spread of disinformation and distrust of leaders. In fact, people no longer believe in the stories of politicians, businessmen and journalists, and at the top there is also disinformation and deepfakes from Gen AI. 5) Inflation or recession While global inflation is declining, it remains high in some developing countries. The economic downturn remains a significant risk to business.

In general, it seems that the risks were identified correctly and everything predicted seems to be true. (||But what do you do with it?||)
