They know how to sell, negotiate, read people, support a team, pull out weak participants and turn a group of random people into a working system. Their problem is not a lack of intelligence, but that the market has dramatically changed the interface to value. Now a similar story is happening with conventional development. If the value of an engineer comes down to "write CRUD quickly," "crowd up the screen," "fix the test," then this part of the work is increasingly going to AI tools and agents. However, this does not mean that an engineer is unnecessary. This means that a specific way to create results becomes cheaper.

- Communication with business;
- User understanding;
- Ability to bring the matter to a result;
- Responsibility for consequences.
In general, if you sum up, now the set of necessary knowledge and skills looks wider: you need domain knowledge, the ability to design solutions, skills to use AI tools, and a steep level of basic engineering practices.
