Periodically I buy books for children and so on my desk was this cool book by Anton Dolin and Konstantin Bronzit, which came out in the series Alpine. The first edition was in 2019 I got a reissue in which it is written in large letters on the back of the cover that Dolin became a foreign agent during this time, but this did not affect the quality of the book, since both authors are professionals.

  • Anton Dolin - film critic and creator of the Youtube channel "Radio Dolin", who was responsible for the text of the book
  • Konstantin Bronzit - animator and two-time nominee for the Oscar for the cartoons "Lover Story - Love Story" and my favorite. We can't live without space." (what? mentioned The children's book "The Rocket Begins"). In this book Constantine was responsible for bombardment illustrations, which together with the text make the book colorful.

In this book, the co-authors are encouraged to learn how to watch a movie for real, not in the background. Initially, the book was conceived as a children's book, but it turned out to be deeper and interesting to read and adults. n (I've tested it on my own.). Valley begins with "simple rules": Why catch movies on the big screen if possible? How walking in the hall is different from home viewing Why it is important to notice not only the plot, but also the picture, sound, editing

There are deeper questions. Is it possible to insure against disappointment? Should we divide cinema into “art” and “entertainment”? Why old movies are not necessarily better than new ones

The book has short chapters with tricky questions that can act as topics for discussion with the child. This allows you to develop critical thinking, rhetoric, and better understand what a child likes in the movies and why.

The last part of the book is devoted to a brief anthology of cinema and allows you to start getting acquainted with the classics - this part teaches you how not to get lost in endless lists, why you should watch not only Hollywood hits, but also author's films, documentaries and animation. The valleys provide basic landmarks and help turn the chaotic choice of movies into a conscious route.

The book is perfect for you.
