I read something funny this weekend. book 2025 Daniel M. Look, professor of mathematics, explains real mathematical subjects through cat poses, jumps, boxes and memes, from the Pythagoras theorem and angle types to Egyptian fractions, Fibonacci numbers, topology, number systems, differential equations and chaos. The book is very accessible and compact - it has a little more 100 pages, 22 My five-year-old son listened with interest to the story about the cat-postman Felix, who wants to bypass all the recipients of letters, passing on the bridges of the analogue of Koenigsberg once. I doubt that my story about the Euler Counts just as well hooked my little lover of mathematics. (He sometimes sits down and solves math problems in Duolingo.).

In general, if you expect from the book not the depth of the level of a large serious mathnauchpop, but witty approaches, then this is it. The author has a book that gives you a taste for mathematics and see how it can be explained without pathos and suffering. Judging by interviews and university materials, this is exactly the effect the author sought.

Separately, the book does not aim directly at children - the author tells not only the base, but also concerns topology, differential equations, determinate chaos and game theory. If you know all this and want to explain concepts to your kids on your fingers and then answer their questions, then this is the book. But give it to the child and expect him to understand how the equivalence of countable infinities works. (Aleph-zero.) It will be overly optimistic.)

Personally, I got a great aesthetic pleasure from reading the book and memorized the author's interesting tips - this will make it easier for me to explain the base to my children:)
