FB recently reminded me of Paul Nahin’s book Divine Fiction. At the intersection of science and religion.”
This is an excellent popular science book about the relationship between science fiction and religion. The author is a master of words and polymath who is familiar with both science and religion and fiction. It is written easily and on interesting topics that are presented in such chapters as: The path of fiction from religion to science Time, space, God’s omniscience and free will
- Believing robots
- Computer as God. Space travel, radio and encounters with aliens Time travel to Jesus
- What if God showed Himself? In general, everything is very interesting, but it is noticeable that the author is familiar only with American fiction - for example, he did not mention Soviet or Chinese science fiction in principle:) I would recommend a book with a reading.
