On the art of war (The art of War)

This book by Niccolo Machiavelli is not as well known as The Prince. And I can explain why - once I read them one after another and it seemed to me that in the book "The Prince" almost everything is still relevant, and in the book "On the Art of War" - almost nothing:) A funny leitmotif of the book "On the Art of War" is the idea that earlier, even in the days of the greatness of Rome, everything was better ... well, or at least the structure of military affairs.

Honestly, most of the book reminds me of reading moralistic stories that are not applicable in a modern context, unless I get carried away by metaphors. Totally for me, the book is on the same level on unjustified expectations with a collection of aphorisms on the same topic from Sun Tzu. Machiavelli wrote most of the text himself, not 100500 subsequent interpreters:)
