The book of the Strugatsky brothers, the impressions of reading in adulthood are very different from those that were in childhood. As a child, it looked like a fairy tale, but when rereading later, satirical motifs became clear, as well as the name more clearly:) The plot of the story is very good, because immerses the reader as the main character in the magical world of NIICHAVO. The main character, a programmer, observes unusual events, strange characters, and at the end of the first part, he can be persuaded to take a job at this university. If you haven’t read this book yet, I highly recommend it.

P.S. In the book there is an interesting character - the director of the Institute Janus Poluektovich Nevstruev, who exists simultaneously in two incarnations - as administrator A-Janus and as a scientist U-Janus. Something reminds me of his existence as a technical director, who should be a good manager and keep up with the development of technical progress and be on the cutting edge of modern technologies:) #SciFi #CTO
