Facilitator's manual (Facilitator’s Guide to Participatory Decision-Making)
I read this book by Sam Kaner. 7 Years ago, when the word “facilitation” had not yet become so popular:) To begin the description of the book is to tell who is actually a facilitator, which is mentioned in the title of the book. This is a person who, through his actions, helps the group maintain a constructive dialogue and come to solutions to problems affecting the group. In fact, a facilitator is a catalyst for group communication. Now about the book itself. It is quite good as a practical guide for a beginner/continuing facilitator. It is made in the form of a group exercise guide and is ready for practical use. But reading this book consistently is too boring. Apparently, for a thoughtful dialogue with the book, the help of a facilitator is also required:)
Seven years ago, I decided that the book was more intended for facilitators of facilitating facilitation forums:) But now I think a lot of things from there are useful to know for more effective meetings:)
