System Design Interview by Groks King (Category Architecture)

I read another one this weekend. book It's a system design that Amazon bought a couple of years ago. I'm often reproached for reviewing books too well, but usually I try to get the best out of books, but with this book it's hard. Very briefly given theoretical foundations and somehow wrappings, from which the overall picture is not collected. There is no single scheme - the author prefers to describe everything in words, so the format of the interaction of components with each other is half guessed. Analysis of practical problems consist of separate parts that do not always assemble into a single whole - for example, in the problem about web crawling, the ending is dedicated to protecting the robot from traps for bots, but the story does not beat with the previous parts. In the problems there are references to vector clocks, CAP and PACELC, consistency models, replication, but the author does not bother to explain, and even decipher:)

The book is a terrible one for anyone who wants to prepare for an interview. But I was interested to read and try to make something meaningful out of this scattering of letters. If the book hadn't come out 2021 I thought it was the first generation of chatGPT:)
