I have followed with great interest the development and plans of the world bigtechs, but suddenly I realized that I do not pay the same attention to players from the financial market closer to me. In this post, I decided to correct it and tell you about the TOP.10 Fintech. For each company, information on capitalization, year of foundation, number of employees, key business products, features of IT infrastructure and development plans are provided. All in all, we see what we have.
- 2 Old-style companies with their own DC: Visa, Mastercard. They live in their DC+ clouds, either for the convenience of connecting customers or for new workloads like AI.
- 2 Companies with a hybrid approach: PayPal, Fiserv. They combine their servers and cloud power. For example, PayPal is moving a significant portion of services to Google Cloud while remaining in a hybrid model.
- 4 Companies on top of the cloud: Stripe, Nubank, Coinbase, Intuit. The first three were originally built as cloud-native, and the last moved to the cloud in the area. 2018 year
- 2 Fintech on top of bigtech: Tencent (WeChat Pay) and Ant Group (AliPay). They live on top of the clouds from their bigtech parents: Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud, which means they can practice vertical integration like hyperscalers.
