Three years ago I read The Big Novel on Mathematics. The history of the world through the prism of mathematics by Michael Lone.

Not only was this book well written, but it is also well designed:) The exposition of the book is built in the style of a narrative, which is associated with the author’s journey first to the Louvre, and then to French sights. The author moves through the museum expositions and is transferred from the times of Mesopathamia, to the events in Egypt, the scientists of Ancient Greece, the creators of modern numerals from India, the heyday of the Arab-Masulman scientific world and finally comes to Europe:) All these transitions occur for a reason, and illustrate the stages of development of mathematics. The story itself was so fascinating and interesting that I couldn’t stop reading the book:) As a result, it seems to me that such a presentation of the history of the development of mathematics in school could be a great help in teaching students this subject:) In general, I recommend this book to read.
