As part of this profession, its leader asked managers at various levels to share a message as if it were your earlier version - conditionally, so that you would tell yourself if you could return to the moment when you were faced with the choice to go to the team or not. I reflexed and wrote this message to myself young:

Sasha, if you're planning on being a good teammate and staying a cool techie, I have bad news - it's damn hard to combine. If you prefer the technique, then look at the high-level grades of individual contributors, perhaps it is more in line with your inner desire. If you still decide to go along the team path, then know that if you succeed, then the area of responsibility and the team will grow to a state where you will experience discomfort. And every new level of leadership is about overcoming yourself and your limitations. Well, at the level of technical director, you will not resemble much of yourself as a developer. So choose wisely:)
