Staff Engineer on a/b platform @ Tinkoff

#Vacancy #Statistics #Data #Staff #Leadership #Architecture #SoftwareArchitecture

I'm looking for a cool engineer on a team that's developing a system to run experiments. This system allows you to automate all stages of experiments from planning to summing up and significantly reduce the cost of experiments. It is interesting that my colleague, Andrei Tsybin, with whom we have already recorded, is responsible for this system. Podcast series "Code of Leadership" About the Statist product analytics system. As a result, now Andrey has the position of a cool engineer who will act as a driller when creating a system of summing up experiments, which allows you to evaluate the results of tests on a set of metrics and statistical criteria for them, and based on these data to make a decision on the experiment. The plan is that a team will gather around this engineer, which will make Tinkoff even more data driven.

By the way, I have already talked about books on the topic of statistics that would be useful to such an engineer.

Now a little about our expectations for the ideal candidate. (tl;dr - ||You have to be a great engineer.||) Experience in any of the respected programming languages (C++, Python, Java, Kotlin, Scala, Golang, C#) Experience designing a scalable infrastructure for distributed data processing, including its monitoring. Experience with data processing tools such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, etc. Experience designing data models, choosing the right way to store and work with storage such as: S3, HDFS, Clickhouse, Greenplum Knowledge of mathematical statistics and understanding of methodologies for conducting A/B experiments will be a plus (You can use the book I mentioned above to see how interesting it is.)

Now what will the candidate have to do? (tl;dr - ||You have to do what great engineers do.||) Plan the technical development of the product (Those debts, improvements.) Participate in the development of architecture and task specification Participate in the development of new features from design to commissioning (Yes, we have developers release code for the product.) Improve the code base of both core services and support libraries Maintain external communication with other teams, stackholders and managers

  • Respond to timely delivery of features

If you like the position, write @apolomodov and @tcandrei

P.S. And in general, about the staff of engineers, we talked with my colleague, Lesha Tarasov, in Another issue of Code of Leadership.
