WebSummit Lisbon (Category Conference)

At the beginning of the summer, my wife and I took WebSummit to Portugal and bought early-bird tickets. Then we bought plane tickets, booked a hotel and applied for a visa. Tonight we were supposed to fly out, but ... the visa center of Portugal together with the consulate failed in four and a half months to review the visa application and answer yes/no. However, a week and a half ago we had to take passports to fly to the Maldives with children, but we were told to return passports. 5 Back to the visa center in November to get the stamps 7 November. Today. 7 In November, all the dates of return on tickets and reservations have passed, but there are no passports. As a result, the trip to WebSummit fell through, money can not be returned, the mood is spoiled. I have been waiting for a visa to Canada for a year with my wife and children, where they also cannot answer yes/no, however, electronic visas and passports are not taken there.

In general, you should fly to the countries of the Global South, not to those where you are slapped with visas ... otherwise you play some kind of roulette with an unpredictable result.
