I often say that you need to know the basis to develop in software engineering. But it is usually difficult to describe, and what is included in this definition of "base" is a gentleman's set of a good engineer. But then my colleague, Zhenya Kozlov, a cool engineer, wrote a series of articles about processors, memory models, multitasking and competitiveness. This series explores the things that engineers can do that high-loaded systems that work closely with data. Actually, Zhenya himself leads the team that Statist is engaged in - this is our product analytics system, which has long replaced us with Amplitude and by all characteristics pulls on data intensive application. In general, I highly recommend this series of articles from Zhenya if you are interested in understanding how a computer handles under the hood those programs that you write in your favorite programming language.

I would also like to note that Zhenya and I recorded Code of Leadership podcast episodeFrom which you can learn about Zhenya’s interesting path to his current role within T-Bank, as well as what he is doing at our company.
