The book is so interesting that it’s hard to get away from it:) Like human history, the book begins with the vast plains of the Serengeti, which have wonderful biodiversity. The author enthusiastically paints a beautiful picture of the jungle for the reader, and then asks what laws regulate the number and biodiversity of animals and plants anywhere. It is interesting that the author begins to answer this question by analyzing the laws and rules of life at the molecular level. And then he goes from one organism to the whole ecosystem, talking about trophic levels and showing that all the same laws remain valid on a larger scale. An ideal book for a system architect that allows you to track interesting patterns of biological systems:) In general, I recommend this book to read:)

P.S. After reading this book, I realized why I love the books in the New Science series so much - they are riddled with interesting stories about people and for people. Reading them, you will not only learn something new and exciting from biology, paleoanthropology, mathematics, physics, etc. And that too, but the main salt is hidden in the pitch - you kind of walk this path with the researchers, peering out from behind their shoulder and watching the discoveries and exploits made along the way to the goal.
