I recently read this book by Michael Killick. (Michael Killick)In which the author simply and easily talks about game design, analyzing examples of successful toys. A couple of chapters show you how to do basic things with Unity. Interestingly, the author himself has been teaching game design to students for many years, so he knows firsthand what he says in the book.

The book consists of a preface. 11 chapters and annexes 1. Beginning a journey into the world of game design - in this chapter, the author talks about the top sales games, where there are Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros, Pokemon, GTA, PUBG, Minecraft, Tetris and other games. • Ten-pager - a more detailed document, which describes in more detail the moments from one-sheet, as well as added individual pages with details about: the general structure of the game, character, gameplay, game world, game experience, game mechanics, enemies, cut scenes, as well as additional materials that motivate the replay of the game.
  • Beat chart It is a one-page document describing the structure of the entire game. (All content, mechanics, narrative, etc.) - You can read more. here
