ArchDays in the AI Era (Category #Architecture)

I have been on the ArchDays program committee since 2019, when the conference began. It seems to me that meetings like this are especially important in the AI era. When AI writes code, architects only face more questions. How should a task be framed so the result can be verified? Where are reviews and human involvement needed? Who is responsible for a solution proposed by an agent? Getting code faster does not necessarily mean getting a working system faster.

That is why, to me, an architecture conference today is a chance not simply to learn about new technologies, but to understand how engineering processes need to be redesigned: from requirements and experiments to change verification and operations. It is also a chance to understand how the architect’s profession is changing. I think we will have to pay more and more attention to how people and AI make decisions together and check their consequences. It is useful here to compare teams’ experience, discuss mistakes, and argue with colleagues.

P.S. I had traditionally wanted to speak at this conference, but by then I will no longer be in Moscow, and the event is fully offline. Still, I think Sergey Baranov and I will work out a way for me to give the talk—perhaps outside the conference, as a separate online broadcast on the ArchDays YouTube channel.
