I recently read a book called “How It Was Built.” From Bridges to Skyscrapers by David McAuley

We really liked the book because we read it. (ponder) Sometimes with her son instead of bedtime stories:) For this purpose, the book is perfect - it is very large. (A4 format) It's very beautifully illustrated. If you go back to the contents of the book, it is worth noting that the original in English was published under the title "Building Big". 20 years ago, so the last of the great 20 You will not see years in the book, for example, there is no skyscraper Burj Khalifa - the current record holder in height. If that doesn’t bother you, the book definitely deserves to be in the library, because the author has the skills of a cool storyteller and explains on his fingers what was the difficulty of building each structure, what concept was chosen to solve this complexity and how difficult it was to implement. For his book, the author chose five types of buildings: bridges, tunnels, dams, domes and skyscrapers. And if we talk about the level of immersion and presentation of information, I like this book more than the same book by John Hill, How a Skyscraper Was Built, which I will talk about briefly next time.

P.S. The book "How It's Built." From Bridges to Skyscrapers was published by MIF and I bought it at the garage sale of this publisher, because I liked the design of the book and it felt like a cool thing:) After reading, my opinion has not changed:) So I recommend this book.
