Cognitive Science and Technology: From Neuron to Cognition (Brain column)

Recently, I talked with my wife about the brain, psychology, artificial intelligence. We discussed these topics in the context of her master’s program in psychoanalytic business consulting, as well as my desire to combine practical activities and start some kind of scientific research. (I have an open gestalt here.). In the end, she asked me to look at the master's program.Cognitive Science and Technology: From Neuron to Cognition" from the Higher School of Economics. In fact, the students are experimentally studying very interesting things about how cognitive processes work in our brains, and the program focuses on the study of perception, attention control, the formation of mental representations, the dynamics of information extraction, learning, reasoning mechanisms, language and problem solving. So it all sounds very interesting. In general, cognitive sciences and research methods are described in the program as follows:

Cognitive neuroscience studies the substrate and the mechanisms behind complex behaviors such as emotion, language, attention, memory, etc. Thus, cognitive neuroscience integrates psychology and neuroscience. Methods used by cognitive neurosciences include experimental paradigms of experimental psychology, neuroscience, neuroimaging studies of the nervous system, and certainly current approaches of behavioral genetics. A scientific breakthrough in brain scanning has allowed researchers in cognitive neurosciences to explore brain function in real time using techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging. (fMRI)Magnetic and electroencephalography (MEG.)And infrared spectroscopy. I will be applying next summer, and if I do not lose interest in this topic, I will try to apply for this program:)
