For example, sysadmins> devops engineers (at the peak of devops popularity) -> Sir engineers (After popularization of the site reliability engineering approach). But if only the skirts change, and not the format of the work, then you should not expect changes:)

P.S. I was lucky to learn most of the information about management. 15 Years ago, and therefore further approaches to work with processes in IT were perceived as some repetition and evolution of good old concepts.)
