Our iceberg is melting (Category Management)
Today, at an MBA leadership session, we recalled John Cotter’s book Our Iceberg Melts. This is the first time I've read this book. 5 Years ago, I liked it.) The book is very easy to read, but the topic presented in the form of a fairy tale is not so simple.
In general, the authors of the book managed to set out recommendations for managing change, submitting them as a story about a flock of penguins who suddenly discovered that their iceberg is not as reliable as they thought for a lifetime:)
The book discusses the algorithm of eight successful steps of successful change:
- Create a sense of “extreme necessity”
- Build a strong team
- Create a vision of success and strategy
- Bring the idea to everyone
- Inspire others to take action
- promote quick victories
- don't give up
- Create a new culture
This algorithm helped a flock of penguins from a fairy tale:) It seems that it is effective not only in fabulous conditions and not only for birds dressed in tuxedos:)
