Write, shorten. (Category Writing)
I often hear the book "Write, Cut" mentioned in a positive context, but it was very difficult for me to read it for six months:) From that time, I read the first half of the book in a day and realized I didn't like it. I do not like the total simplification of the language and the ultimatum presentation of info style as the best tool for information communications. With these thoughts, I put the book aside.
Six months later, I took it off the mezzanine, decided to give it another chance. The second half of the book was much more interesting: Talk about the purpose of the text and tasks
- about audience and context
- about the structure at the level of a sentence, paragraph, article
- and so on. The second half of the book ended up reading it in one sitting. I liked this half as much as the book's final remark that meaning is more important than words.
