Leadership principles (Leading Matters)

I recently read a book about leadership from John Henessy, which attracted me with Bill Gates’ quote, “An indispensable guide for every leader.” Then I became interested in the author and learned that he was a famous scientist who was a co-founder of MIPS Corporation, President of Stanford University and winner of the Turing Prize. I couldn’t help but read this book:) There's on YouTube. brief With an author who shares his thoughts on leadership and the main ideas of the book. This is for those who like to watch rather than read. In the book there is an introduction, ten chapters and a conclusion, and in the introduction the author briefly describes what awaits readers inside the book.

He talks about his career and how he came to write a book about leadership. In a nutshell, John was a university professor at Stanford, then he was involved in the creation of a very successful startup, MIPS, but even so he combined this work with a professor. Then he returned to university and began to grow up the career ladder, ending up in the chair of the President of Stanford, and this position he held for a long time. 16 years. In 2016 He retired from the position and then embarked on the Knight-Henessy Scholarship Program to train leaders. In fact, John had the idea to write a book with his views on leadership. The book consists of 10 Chapters that are grouped as follows  The first four chapters describe the fundamental principles: modesty, sincerity, readiness for service, empathy.  Chapter Five describes the courage that connects these principles to the way organizations are transformed.  Chapters six to ten describe methods and practices for transforming an organization: collaboration, innovation, curiosity, storytelling, creating sustainable change.
