Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

This one lecture I came across another book on public speaking. In this book, the author, using the example of three famous speeches, showed how you can use a variety of tools to engage the audience, convey thoughts and encourage action. These three famous speeches were:

  1. I Have a Dream Martin Luther King, in his famous speech, proclaimed his vision of a future where white and black people would have equal civil rights.
  2. Steve Jobs Speech to Stanford Graduates - with the final message, "Be hungry." Be reckless.
  3. Randy Pausch's Last Lecture Randy, a famous professor at Carnegie Mellon University who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, gave his "final speech" in which he talked about achieving your childhood dreams, or rather how to live life so that dreams become reality.

And if the first two speeches I heard and saw long before reading the book "Successful Short Presentation" (More about the book itself my article on medium)I only learned about Randy from her. And it was with great pleasure that he watched the talk of this professor, who, even when he was terminally ill, with great artistry, expression and talent, conveyed his thoughts to the audience so that she listened to him with bated breath or bursting with laughter depending on Randy's actions. This lecture is his message to children, friends and loved ones, students and colleagues, all of us. This is a story about how to live. How to appreciate every moment. How to care about children's dreams. How to live without losing a second of precious time

In general, I highly recommend listening to Randy and trying to evaluate not only the content of the speech, but also the skill with which the speaker reveals this content to the audience.

P.S. Randy lived after this lecture for less than a year. He left behind his wife, three children, and Alice, a programming learning environment, to create interactive videos including VR and The Last Lecture.
