This is a simple and interesting book that is written in a fun and accessible way – it’s the best way to get acquainted with the basic concepts of game theory. In general, the authors were able to consider many points in their book, among which are:

  • What are games? What the strategic form of the game looks like
  • variants of equilibrium according to Nash, Pareto Clean and mixed strategies Prisoners' Dilemma and Cooperation
  • plurality of equilibriums on the example of "Battle of the Sexes"
  • games: "currency speculation", "who is the first coward", "doves and hawks", ...
  • sub-game balance
  • asymmetric information
  • further examples of the use of these tools to analyze the problems of credit markets, nuclear deterrence. Finally, we talk about group decision-making and consider the Condorcet paradox. (The book does not contain the title.) On the non-transitivity of collective ranking of alternatives, even if the ranking of all voters is transitive and Arrow’s theorem on the impossibility of democracy is mentioned as a “collective choice”:) In general, the book is very funny and informative. It is suitable for those who just want to get acquainted with the theory of games, let it begin literally on their fingers.
