Will Larson has an interesting newsletter in which he raises important topics. And in late August, he wrote a post about how conditional CTOs and VPs of Engineering can participate in hiring. Article It turned out to be big because it's an unedited version of a chapter from Wll's new book. The Engineering Executive’s Primer" (O'Reilly has early access to this book, which you can read while writing.).

But if you go back to the article, the following topics were discussed in it. How to build a general hiring process, including a description of positions, hiring cycle, etc. What is the role of executives in monitoring and debunking the hiring process How to help finalize the hiring of key candidates in your organization How to assess the level of candidates How to manage headcount and that it is a key part of hiring management How to train hiring managers How to Calibrate Recruitment Both Outside and Inside, Including Internal Candidates How to evaluate and develop a company’s engineering brand (what affects nai n) When and how to introduce a hiring committee How to remember that the built system serves you, and not vice versa

In general, everything as usual - Will's questions are excellent, and a good syllable and the presence of a clear structure makes it easy to perceive its recommendations and embed in your work:)
