Big tech companies at some point in time come to build their development platforms that must consolidate common tools and deliver them consistently to all product teams. Due to this, companies strive to simplify the development of product things, reduce time-to-market, as well as economies of scale. It happened in Tinkoff. 4 Years ago, with the arrival of Igor Maslov, around which the core team began to gather, which later turned into coretech. At the dawn of formation, Dima Gaevsky joined this team, who once began working for me, then led several teams in coretech, and now plays the role of CPO. (chief product officer) Our internal platform. And now Dima is looking for a technical product for the direction of "Code & Build" (Version Control + CI domain).

Here's how Dima describes what the guys at IDP do.

What do we do? Collect all scenarios of development, testing and maintenance of applications in Tinkoff, creating a centralized application-centric PaaS platform Spirit. The platform is a console in the style of gcp/aws, built around SSO with close integration into the overall scenarios of infrastructure services. (BDB)Continuous load testing systems, DevSecOps, VCS (Gitlab CE), quota engine, browser and mobile farms, artifact repository, and multi-cloud runtime platform. The product includes more 15 systems combined around different stages of the production cycle, with a constant expansion of the number of systems.

Spirit includes product lines: Discover - Inner Source, search, marketplace solutions

  • Code & Build - VCS (Now fork community Gitlab), CI, Artifact management (register) Configure & Deliver & Operate - a centralized application configuration and deployment system, as well as a rantime platform

Our global objective: Create an ecosystem of deeply integrated engineering products for developers to cover all needs throughout the production cycle. The ecosystem combines a platform for Spirit development, FineDog incident management and Observability - SAGE. We are part of Core Technologies, a division created to improve the productivity of development at Tinkoff, in which IT is already working more 10 Thousands of engineers. We adhere to the ideology of you build it - you run it, write quality code, independently cover all units and integration tests.
