Yandex Volozha. The history of the dream company

#BusinessStory #Software

This book by Vladislav Dorofeev about the history of Yandex 2013 The year it was written. I decided to read it right now, because it was interesting to learn about Yandex in the context of the events that unfold around it now. To be honest, I haven’t learned anything fundamentally new about the company. In addition, I had an idea that the author wanted to show Yandex from the bright side and note the genius of Volozh as an enterpreneur and politician who comes out of any situation on his own terms. A rather controversial point was the abundance of quotes from the Yandex website and licensing agreements with different products. It seems that the author, like Dumas, was paid for the amount of writing, not for the quality:) But the main character, Arkady Volozh, gave Dorofeev only one interview, so the content had to be collected from the world by thread.

But if we talk about the canvas of the story, it was quite interesting and if you can read quickly, then the author’s “water” did not stop reading too much and I coped with this book for the first time. 1 day 15 chapters, prologue and epilogue:

  • Prologue. Behind the enemy Head. 1 How I played the clown. Head. 2 A straight line. Head. 3 CompTek-uterus Head. 4 Discovery of morphology Head. 5 Web storytellers from Yandex Head. 6 Monetizing fate Head. 7 Running away from Google Head. 8 Contacts with investors in the background of the Kremlin Head. 9 Judicial index Head. 10 The code of profit Head. 11 A key part of architecture Head. 12 Personal tracking machine Head. 13 Ilya Head. 14 School of altruism Head. 15 Vocabulary Epilogue. A dream recipe

And to conclude the story about the book I would like to quote the main character of the book, Arkady Volozh: It is a miracle that Yandex happened in the country. It is important not to break it, and we are responsible for it.

P.S. In style, the book resembles the book "Pioneers of Silicon Valley", which I refer to. earlier And the next book that I undertook to read "The Kudrin System" ...
