What we discussed on the recording

The Technology Strategy Patterns finale assembles strategy into an executable system. A vision describes the desired state, strategic goals define measurable directions, and practices plus initiatives turn them into work. Engineering culture captures expected decision behavior rather than slogans.

Each initiative becomes a case with value, an implementation route, and a success signal. Rough, refined, and realistic estimates move from a broad range through research to a well-founded commitment. Ranges beat false precision, while assumptions and a checkpoint keep an early number from becoming a permanent promise.

A Technology Radar aligns adopt, trial, assess, and hold decisions. Make–buy–partner choices are tested against differentiation, cost, speed, and dependency risk. Due diligence examines code and delivery practices, while non-functional requirements become part of ordinary work.

A Ghost Deck puts slide assertions and narrative logic before supporting data. A strategic roadmap shows initiatives and outcomes; a tactical one sequences near-term work. A MergeSort Meeting first gathers each participant's ideas independently, then groups and combines the team's findings without mutual framing.
