What we discussed on the recording

Kirill Kraynev is the technical director for marketing automation and a leader of the systems analysis profession. The role grew from integration work: documentation written afterward drifted from the system, so analysts joined design earlier. The community brought together almost 900 specialists.

The profession owns its competency matrix, hiring, growth, and knowledge sharing. Its representatives remain practicing coaches. A stream-aligned team needs an end-to-end analyst who carries a feature across frontend and backend. Recommendations and mentoring turn matrix expectations into a development plan.

For senior and future Staff levels, outcomes, complexity, uncertainty, and organizational impact matter more than a technology checklist. A Staff analyst maps business processes onto several systems and designs broad solutions. Hiring includes theory and a practical exercise; a strong candidate also completes System Design.

A systems analyst can grow toward Staff, architecture, or team leadership. The role is valuable in a business-heavy team: it extracts requirements from a product idea, covers nonfunctional constraints, and defines a specification. A technical product may start with strong engineers and add an analyst later for documentation and work with platform consumers.
