When I was a software engineer and then a team leader, I wasn’t very interested in the financial performance of the companies I work for... or the neighborhood. But then I kept moving along the track of engineering management and fell deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of business and financial reporting. I even enjoy reading these reports. In addition to press releases, large companies publish infographics for simple understanding of key indicators. (which the company wants to draw the attention of investors). Below is a list of recent reports with their infographics on which you can practice reading such reports.

  1. T-Bank - financial results for the second quarter and first half of the year
  2. Yandex - financial results for the second quarter 2024 year
  3. Ozon - financial results for the second quarter 2024 year

In general, tinkering with finance is useful for managers, so I recommend reading a book.Financial reportingor at least look lecture About PnL and Finance from the guys from Yandex with their courses for managers. This will allow you to better understand how the product in which you work works, how it earns and through what it turns out to provide FOT teams:)
