Lion, witch and wardrobe (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe)

This is the book I read to my kids last night. It’s the first in Clive Staples’ Chronicles of Narnia series, although it has a prequel, The Magician’s Nephew, which I’m already talking about. wrote earlier. In this book, we meet. Four children are being evacuated from London to the countryside to protect them from possible bombardments. 2 world-wide Peter, Edmund, Susie and Lucy, once in the village, explore a huge house and find a wardrobe. The wardrobe acts as a portal to another world, where winter always stands. First, this world is explored by Lucy, who returns to tell others about it, but no one believes her. Next, Lucy and Edmund get there together, and Edmund meets with the White Witch and finds himself on the hook of rickat Lucum. Returning from the adventure, Lucy and Edmund tell different versions due to the natural hazards of Edmund. But then a sudden tour of tourists forces the children to hide in the wardrobe And then begins the main story, which is better to read yourself.

It is interesting that as a child I began to read different books as soon as I learned to put letters into words. The Narnia books were interesting to me. Since then, my opinion has not changed, but as a child I did not catch allusions to religious stories. And, reading now, it immediately becomes clear that Clive Staples Lewis was not only a poet and philologist, but also a theologian:)

P.S. Children love the story and fall asleep. But the eight-year-old already understands everything, and the three-year-old just likes to listen to dad's voice:)
