Review of the book "Digital Transformation" ("Digital Transformation. Survive and Thrive in an Era of Mass Extinction")

About a year ago, I read a book by Thomas Siebel about digital transformation and couldn’t write a review. The bottom line is that the book describes modern approaches and concepts quite well and shows why organizations now need to change or leave the market. That’s why I wanted to write about it, but other factors interfered, for example, the fact that Siebel for me is a household name, which is painted in negative tones by moving with Siebel CRM, which I fortunately do not deal with directly. That is, Sibel is someone like Augius, whose stables had to clean Hercules, performing his sixth feat. But Hercules managed in one day, and migration from Siebel CRM is a multi-year process:)

Interestingly, even Thomas Siebel himself migrated from Siebel CRM, selling it to Oracle, to a startup C3.ai, which appeared in the distant past. 2009 It became a platform for creating AI applications. (Thomas knows how to catch trends before they become hype). Although if you go back to 2019When this book was published, digital transformation was a bullshit phrase, a marketing term that consultants used to sell another project to an established corporation.
