A scientist. Children's academy (Scientist Academy: Are you ready for the challenge?)
This book is part of a series of children's academy, which still has an "Engineer Academy" and "Architect Academy", but I have not seen their translation into Russian. In this book about scientists, the child is offered to become a researcher for a while, study some facts and conduct laboratory work. Success in the experiments, children will note instead of the evaluation stickers:) The book presents different sciences, grouped as follows:
- Laboratory scientists: chemist, physicist, biologist
- Test scientist: criminology, paleontology, food science
- Astronomer scientist: astronomy
- Earth Scientist: Geography, Oceanology
- Biologist: classification of animals, oceanology
In the process of studying the book, children will do a bunch of laboratory:
- collect the sundial
- Conduct an experiment with a pendulum Experiment with water, vegetable oil and food coloring Learn how to make invisible ink from lemon
- play ping pong with a hairdryer
- solve logic problems
- draw a dinosaur by its bones. Play a solar eclipse with two balls and a lamp Understand how satellites work with signal transmission
- draw a topological map of the landscape pattern
- try to make a seismograph to fix earth tremors Collect a weather vane to track the direction of the wind
- make a stethoscope.
This is a really cool book to talk about science. So far, I have only managed to play with the youngest one a ping-pong ball and a hair dryer, which by the end of the game overheated and began to smell a little bit of feminine plastic:)
