[3/3] MBA - Module "Strategy and Self-Actualization / Visionary" (Category Management)
I’ll continue with the strategy and leadership module I started in the first two posts: 1 and 2. On the second day of training, we covered a lot of interesting points and I even bought myself some books that skipped through the discussion. Here are the main topics we discussed.
- Multilevel governance with such levels: geopolitical, sovereign / social, corporate, personal. You can influence the level at which you operate, and you can simply prepare for the levels above. (If you can work with information and risks)
- The Global Risk Report 2024 - interesting 100+ pagey document From the World Economic Forum, which brings together thousands of top experts and looks at the risks ahead this year, 2-x years and 10 years. The document uses an approach PESTLE analysisIt deals with various factors: political, economic, social, technological, legal, environments. Then I will post about this interesting document.
- Geopolitical fragmentation and trade - interesting paper 2023 A year on the division of the world, taking into account current geopolitical trends. The article has interesting predictions.
- “The following: 100 Forecast of events of the XXI century - interesting book 2009 The year of political scientist George Friedman, who founded the company Stratfor (Strategic Forecasting). This book was brought to me in paper and I even started reading it. It is definitely an interesting description and shows a model of thinking about the geopolitical causes of events. The predictions themselves were partially fulfilled, and partially remained versions for alternate universes. (more multi-world interpretation or Everett's interpretation). You can read more about Friedman’s book at my review
- The generation gap USA (not only) Boomers still determine consumption in the U.S., and younger generations are in a position that they cannot afford what was available to their grandfathers for free. (education, medicine,) 🙂
- Kondratieff waves The hypothesis of cyclicality of economic indicators, which suggests that in the development of the economy there are phases of long-term fluctuations of the order. 50 years. Since there are no clear rules that determine the parameters of these waves, this hypothesis does not correspond to The Falsifiability Criteria of Karl PopperIt is not scientific, but rather religious:)
- ESG agenda - with us for a long time:) You can look at that. roller From Apple to Mother Nature
- Earth's population ages And that's why the silver economy is on the agenda -- you can read on this subject materials from the UN with the naming "life expectancy index."
The afternoon was devoted to personal strategy and analysis of the bright image of the leader within the framework of the concept. Global South and Global North. Definitely interesting, but the results of these reflections on his direction of development, each kept to himself:)
In the end, the strategy module was really interesting. Interestingly, I did a previous version of this training. 2 a year ago in the spring 2022 But then the strategic things were difficult, and now they were perceived as necessary:)
