Interesting. report from James Lewis on the topic of optimization of the value stream in software development. The author begins by remembering what has happened in the past. 15 years (AWS, Android, Git, Continuous Delivery, Microservices, K8s, Platform Engineering, ML &AI). He talks briefly about the theory of queues and Little's law. Author gives references to books

And then the author talks about value stream mapping and how it can be used to improve the flow of value. And then James tells NetLogoIt can be used to model development processes and further shows how to spin the parameters of the model to simulate changes in the system. For example, there is a model of waterfall development model by large batches and agile team that practices continuous delivery. I liked the talk precisely because there is an example of modeling the processes of the production system.

P.S. I remember playing with NetLogo as part of the Coursera Model Thinking course and then reading the Model Thinker book. remembered A few years ago. I highly recommend the course and the book.
