Another lesson from the course of book writing and book publishing from MIF was led by Ekaterina Severina, who has experience as a PR manager and book reviewer. I remember the following points from this lecture: There’s a bestseller formula where the right person in the right place talks about the right book for the right audience. In book marketing, word of mouth means a lot. (as in consulting) The author’s personal brand and media can help promote the book It can be developed to create a potential reader base, and this can only be done effectively if it corresponds to the values and desires of the author. (Some people don’t want to be public.) Sometimes using a pseudonym can help - so you can conduct different projects under different names and dilute different audiences on different pseudonyms. There are successful authors with and without pseudonyms. A personal brand is built on three pillars: who you are as an author, author’s voice and avatar. If the author is public, then a content strategy that includes regularity, format and channels of communication with the audience can be useful for him. It is better to use your unique style and ideas, rather than copying who, and be persistent and patient. (For many years I have written my articles in ~~Google+~~ /dev/null) It is better to use not only text, but also visual elements - I personally like diagrams and infographics. It would also be good to look at the analytics of how the audience accepts your texts - this allows you to test hypotheses and choose the optimal ones. There is an archetype theory that helps to understand how people react to content: knowing the world, changing the world, connecting the world and maintaining the world. It is useful to understand which archetypes you are targeting. I am personally closer to those who know the world and change a little less. You can promote your books.

  • Participate in various activities: book clubs, literary evenings, etc.
  • Promote books through barter with other authors, and you can write articles for the media:)
  • Participate in various literary competitions and awards
  • Maintain social networks and post materials related to the book
  • Organize meetings with readers, conduct surveys and votes,
  • Interact with book bloggers (Podcasts, videos, collaborative posts,...) For the author it is important that he had a gentleman's set: good photos and biography (concise)
