Facility 4 - Lesson. 12 “Author's style. Expert - Ekaterina Dronova (Category Writing)
Another lesson of the MYTH course about writing books was devoted to author's style. Ekaterina Dronova, expert and author of the course "Strong Text" tells about the style and presentation for different types of books, including fiction and non-fiction. The main points I learned in this lesson are as follows: 1) Classification of types of non-fiction texts Books for systematization of knowledge - answer the question "What do you need to know in this field?" Teaching books - answer the question "how to do it?" Books aimed at knowledge - answer the question "how is it arranged?" Books for fun - answer the question "how do other people live?" 2) The type of book depends on the features of the presentation Systematizing, teaching and cognitive text
- May have no artistic value. Must be informative, but should not be knowledge-intensive n (Otherwise, readers won't understand.) Must be clearly structured into chapters, which should have a repetitive structure Educational text Must have artistic value and contain elements of drama and suspense Must speak a language that the reader understands and convey a personal story The expert gives such a metaphor.
The plot is a car that the author loads with meanings. If you want to illustrate a concept, an experience, a process, tell a story. Here I recommend reading about storytelling, which I wrote about earlier in this channel.
