Facility 4 - Lesson. 20 "Social media marketing (SMM). Expert - Olesya Polyanskaya (Category Writing)
Another lesson from the book writing and publishing course from MIF was led by Olesya Polyanskaya, head of the social networking team at MIF, who shared her experience and knowledge in the field of SMM. I remember the following points from this lecture:
- Social networks can help in publishing books and increasing the recognition of the author and his books
- They can be used to communicate with the audience, get feedback and monetize.
- Now there are many blogs and channels, but the uniqueness of the voice and experience of the author will always find its audience.
- To maintain your blog you need a clear strategy and systematic work.
- It’s important to understand why you’re going to blog so you don’t leave it halfway. The goal should be inspiring and meaningful, not just mercantile.
- It is important to choose the right platform for publications: different social networks, messengers and so on.
- It is important to formulate key ideas and form a style through which you can see personal experience and uniqueness.
- You can make themes and instructions – they work well.
- You can use free and paid promotion for your blogs, or you can give advertising on your blog.
- It is important to understand your audience and properly shape content for your readers.
- You can delegate the development of your blog, leaving only the creation of content.
- You need a content plan of publications and their rhythm - otherwise the audience will fall off, especially if the author will disappear for a long time.
- Creating publications requires a lot of time – this must be understood, deciding to start a blog.
- Be prepared for toxic comments n
- It is quite difficult to transfer the audience between different social networks, so it is worth diversifying the platforms used.
